From 10am to 6pm today and yesterday I have been in rehearsals with all my fellow finalists from the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2011 and the winner from 2010. The rehearsals were held in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Over the two days we have come up with 15 sets, these will be used for the Young Trad Tour which will take place towards the end of October (tbc). A number of the sets will also be recorded for the Young Trad 2011 album. The recording will take place in Castlesound Studios in Pencaitland in August. It’s been a tough two days but I am very much looking forward to recording an album and going on tour with everyone!
