Tune of the Week

In April 2014 Tina started a tune writing project which would lead to her being nominate for ‘Composer of the Year’ at the 2014 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards. Writing one tune a week for her ‘Tune of the Week’ project, Tina also recorded herself playing them and posted them all online. The project lasted for 35 weeks in total. Many of the tunes can be heard on the brand new album HIGH SPIRITS from Gráinne Brady & Tina Jordan Rees.

After a ten month break from the project #tuneoftheweek returned in November 2015, this time with a slight difference; as well as composing new tunes Tina will be learning and recording tunes written by other people. This is so that her repertoire continues to grow.
