I had a lovely time on Islay this weekend playing for a wedding alongside Gráinne Brady, Fiona Black and Jenn Butterworth.
We arrived on Friday night and went to the Port Charlotte Hotel for a lovely meal followed by a session in the bar. The wedding was on the Saturday and the ceremony took place in a lovely wee art gallery called Outback Art. Myself and Gráinne played some of our G&T sets during the drinks reception after the ceremony. We then headed back to the Port Charlotte Hotel for another smashing meal.
After this we drove to Portnahaven where we played a ceilidh for the wedding in the town hall there. Gráinne was on fiddle, Fiona on piano accordion, Jenn on guitar (and a few songs) and I switched between piano and flute. It was great to see so many guests up on the dance floor for the ceilidh dances.
Sunday was spent travelling back to Glasgow. It was a calm crossing once again which is always nice, and a lovely drive back to Glasgow in the sun with fantastic scenery.
