The MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards Warm Up Tour 2013 is set to take place this week on Thursday in Stereo, Glasgow and Friday in The Tunnels, Aberdeen. These gigs will showcase some of the best traditional music as well as the “Up and Coming Artist” nominees.
I am delighted to be playing the piano at both concerts as a nominee in the “Up and Coming Artist of the Year” category alongside fellow Up and Coming nominees Adam Holmes and The Embers, and The Scott Wood Trio. Adam Sutherland, Composer of the Year nominee, and Ross Ainslie, Album of the Year nominee, are also set to play at the concerts so it should be a fantastic night of exciting music.
Threads of Sound will record and film both events and a selection of live tracks will be released on all the major download platforms.
I am both nervous and excited to play at these gigs and I’m looking forward to hearing the other musicians on the night. And finally, I’m very much looking forward to the Scots Trad Music Awards which will take place on Saturday in Aberdeen. Here’s to the best folky Christmas party there is 🙂
