This week I’ve written a jig for #tuneoftheweek. I gave myself some boundaries for this one. I was waiting for my tea to cook and had 20 minutes until it was ready so I thought, perfect, I’ll write a tune. Ok I only have 20 minutes so I’m going to have to make some decisions straight away. It’s going to be in C major. I chose to write a jig simply because there are less notes per bar than a reel so it might’ve made it easier to write within the time limit. I also wanted to use a couple of the keys on the flute and this is the tune that came out. I’ve called it Riverside as the Riverside Festival was happening at the same time and I could see/hear it from the flat. The playing isn’t perfect on the recording but I wanted to get it down today. I’ll have to practice it! The picture accompanying the track is the view of the Riverside Museum from the flat.
