The Keyed Flute – a new venture

My parents got me my first flute back in 2004. A lovely keyless flute from Hobgoblins Music in Manchester. Made by De Keiser it has served it’s purpose well over the last 9 years.

The time has come though for me to move on from my first flute and to get a more advanced instrument. I am very excited that I have ordered myself a brand new 6-keyed flute from George Ormiston that is due to be ready in August this year.

I can’t wait to get the new flute and to explore the keys – it will be such a novelty for me after having no keys for all this time. I’m looking forward to creating some exercise which will work out the fingers for the keys and also composing some new tunes which will use the keys. I’m very excited to explore this new venture.
